Sri Lankaramaya Buddhist Temple (Singapore) celebrated Sinhala New Year on 19 April 2009. There were whole day programmes (from 9 am to 5 pm) including Buddha Puja, Paritta Chanting, Boiling of Milk, Offering of Betel Leaves to Elders, Anointing head with Oil, traditional New Year Games, Puja, Lunch Dana for Maha Sangha, Vegetarian lunch for all, lighting of Ceremonial Oil Lamp, Speech by President, Prize-giving ceremony, Devotional Dance and Cultural Show by Students of Sunday Dhamma School, Dhamma Gavesi Youth Group and the Expat Community. Wonderful! May all be well, happy and prosperous!

Sharing with you one of my very early aerial view painting painted by me. This painting together with another 8 paintings were exhibited at the Discovery Art Exhibition 1987. This exhibition was sponsored by Shell Companies in Singapore. This was one of a group exhibition that I participated at the very beginning of my painting career.

This painting “Tranquility” was collected by Shell Companies in Singapore. Another bigger painting “Cosmic Landscape” was acquired by the Singapore Art Museum. The other paintings were acquired by a Bank, a Minister, a business woman, a woman from India and a young lady respectively at that time.
