Usually they are easily available and can be readily recognized. I brought out this painting to show a nearby primary school teacher, who visited me few days ago. This painting was painted by me many years ago. At that time my son was studying at that school and there were many Golden Showers trees planted at a park beside the school. Inspired by the structure of the school building and the Golden Showers trees I painted this painting.

The colour of the feature structure of the school building has been changed from golden yellow to light green. This photo was taken by me this morning.

This painting is painted by Vivien. She is a private one to one painting sessions participant. She often has new ideas and concepts for her artworks. She uses colours, shapes, textures, brush strokes, symbols and visual directions to compose her paintings. This is her recent painting titled: Brother Wind and Sister Breeze. Hope you enjoy it.

I enjoy having painting sessions with my participants. Very ofter after the beginning stages of talking and explaining to them for the lessons, I could enjoy long moment of calm and peace when participants ardently working on their artworks. This silent moment is so wonderful that it is like such silent and peaceful moment in meditation retreat. I am happy to be able to experience and enjoy such wonderful moment in art making with participants at home.

I am happy to see participants progress accordingly and they enjoy their lessons. Some come for lessons month after month until they go back to their country or posted to other places for their works or other reasons. More importantly they feel happy and pleased, satisfied and wonderful about art making and they bring with them the skills, experience and memories wherever they go.

Photo: Maha Bodhi School in the 60’s.

I had a short interview with the creative director of an environmental art and design company yesterday. At the end of the interview, I was asked what do I like to share with the young Maha Bodhians. (I had my primary education at the Maha Bodhi School 菩提学校 it was located at Lorong 34 Geylang at that time).

I ended the interview with 8 words that I would like to share with the young Maha Bodhians, these 8 words were written on my 纪念册 by my form teacher 周文央老师. The eight words are: 胆大心细 智圆行方.

I did not further explain the meaning during the interview as it would take too long the time to explain it and it is difficult for me to explain it in English. The words come from 旧唐书·孙思邈传. It is meaningful and profound. Here is the meaning of these eight works in Chinese.

In another search, I found thus:
