Here is one of the courses that I have for Adults:

1. Acrylic Painting for Beginners and Basic Sketching/Drawing (detailed information at http://pabha.com/ArtClass)

Beginners, as well as those with some experience, are welcome. (Art classes for adults in Singapore)

You will learn to paint with acrylic medium and learn to use art materials effectively and to mix your colours well. You will be guided by techniques to achieve various visual effects. Besides practical exercises to investigate colours, lines, shapes, form, volume, light, texture and others, you will learn to develop skills to paint and to complete still life paintings.

You will discover the freedom and ease of painting with this modern, non-toxic and versatile fine art acrylic medium and finally enjoy the freedom of expression in creating your original acrylic paintings either from your observation and experiences, feelings and thoughts, ideas, dreams or imagination, or your own photos or visual references.

One of the theme I like to make for my painting is sea and beach. How do you like this painting… like to hear from you.

Tranquil Beach. Acrylic on canvas. By Prabhakara Jimmy Quek.

I use sketches to work out designs for my paintings. Once I have an idea of the composition of the painting, I then start painting it on canvas. Here are the sketches and a final painting for examples:

Here is the painting that I painted.

We can use sketches to develop ideas and communicate our ideas. The drawing skills needed can be trained and practised. We can also just do sketching and make it a simple artwork, like the following two simple works for examples.
